Today any professor can build a business simulation with artificial intelligence in minutes. The important question comes afterwards: what did each student actually learn, and what proves it?
That question is what we took with us to the CLADEA 2026 Congress. Here is the proposal we brought.
AI simulations in business schools: building them is easy, proving the learning is not
Generic AI tools have put simulations within reach of every instructor.
Yet having a scenario ready for class does not guarantee that students learn, let alone that a school can prove it. For schools pursuing international accreditation this matters: AACSB Standard 5 calls for well-documented assurance of learning processes, with direct and indirect measures (AACSB, Standard 5).
Our proposal at CLADEA 2026: simulations plus competency assessment
The 61st CLADEA International Congress took place from 26 to 28 October 2026 in Montevideo, hosted by the Universidad Católica del Uruguay (CLADEA).
We brought a simple idea: at Kudzu Partners we build the simulations and we also assess competencies. Putting the two together turns what happens in the classroom into evidence, organised in three pillars (practise, measure and accredit) and held up by a fourth that spans the whole process: governance.
Practise: real decisions in a business simulation
In the simulation, students run a company under pressure, against competitors and with real consequences. They decide, get it wrong, justify their position, improve and learn.
That journey cannot be delegated. An AI can write the report, but defending a choice in front of your own team is something only the student can do.
Measure: 360° competency assessment
Every move in the scenario leaves a record of the judgement, leadership and collaboration of whoever makes it.
Self-assessment and peer feedback are added to that information. The result is a competency profile that reflects real capability, not appearances.
Accredit: assurance of learning for AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS
At the end of the process, the institution backs its AACSB, AMBA or EQUIS accreditation with competency reports that show what each participant can do. Evidence, not impressions.
AI governance in education: control, traceability and compliance
Many professors already create materials with artificial intelligence, and universities do not always know what is being used in their classrooms or where the data ends up.
With Kudzu, every simulation and every result is recorded. Leadership gains control, traceability and compliance, and the data always belongs to the institution.
Supporting professors: from their case to a simulation
Instructors are not on their own. If they have a case of their own, we turn it into a simulation together, using AI to speed up development and with experts reviewing every result.
In class, the professor sets the pace and follows what the group decides, moving from marking texts to guiding decisions. There is nothing to install, and a team supports them from launch.
Leading, prestigious institutions already work with us.
